This qualification is designed to increase learners’ awareness and understanding of young children’s development, safeguarding the welfare of the respecting and valuing them.
The learner will get an awareness of food and nutrition to plan a healthy diet, the importance and value of play for early learning and sharing learning experiences with children.
By completing the qualification, learners will develop in-depth knowledge of caring for children and young people which could support progression onto other appropriate qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care sector.

You will be provided with the learning materials either online and/or hardcopies and you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you guidance and feedback on the course as you complete it. This course takes between 2 to 6 months to complete.
To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People, learners are required to successfully complete 4 mandatory units.

There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification. However, learners might find it useful if they have already completed a Level 1 qualification. You will be invited in to complete an induction and inital assessment.
Due to government funding these courses are available free of charge; subject to the learners meeting the set eligibility. You must have lived in the UK/EU for the past 3 years and be over 19 years old. There may be a fee should you withdraw from the course.
