What will I study?
The purpose of this qualification is to give learners currently working or intending to work in adult health and social care an awareness of a range of common health conditions. Learners may then progress to additional qualifications to gain a more in-depth understanding of specific health conditions.

What modules are covered?
To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions, learners must achieve a minimum of 15 credits:
- Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions (2 credits)
- Introductory awareness of sensory loss (2 credits)
- Stroke awareness (3 credits)
- Arthritis awareness (3 credits)
- Dementia awareness (2 credits)
- Understanding mental health (4 credits)
- Parkinson’s disease awareness (3 credits)
The coverage of these topics will give you a general awareness of a range of common health conditions and their effects on individuals.
What Next?
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:
- Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)
- Level 2 or 3 Certificates in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
- Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care

What previous qualifications and experience will I need?
There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification.
Due to government funding these courses are available free of charge; subject to the learners meeting the set eligibility. You must have lived in the UK/EU for the past 3 years and be over 19 years old. There may be a fee should you withdraw from the course.
