The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) reports that unemployment rates were approximately 6% higher for ethnic minorities than white people in 2018. This is just one example of the inequalities that still exist throughout the UK. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that we educate ourselves about supporting and promoting equality and British Values.
You will be provided with the learning materials either online and you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor who will give you guidance and feedback on the course as you complete it. This course takes between 2 to 6 months to complete.

- Section 1: British Values as they apply to all residents of the United Kingdom
- Section 2: Democracy as it applies in the United Kingdom
- Section 3: The Rule of Law as it relates to daily life in the United Kingdom

What previous qualifications and experience will I need?
This is a distance learning course and is free of charge subject to you meeting the eligibility criteria, which is:
- You must be over 19 years old on 1 August
- Have lived in the UK/EU for past 3 years and based at an English address
- Not be undertaking any other government funded course
