This course is designed to increase the learners understanding in how core counselling skills can be used in a counselling relationship and in other helping activities, how counselling theory underpins the use of counselling skills, how the ethical framework informs own use of counselling skills and how to develop skills and qualities in the future.
This course is available to start throughout August until the end of February but must be completed by 30 June. If you are paying for the course, you can start on any date throughout the year and have 6 months to complete it.

This qualification could lead to employment or increase employability for those whose role is to support others in e.g. health and social care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, other helping roles. It provides additional skills for those already in employment and is likely to lead to increased opportunities for promotion and advancement.
There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification.
Due to government funding these courses are available free of charge; subject to the learners meeting the set eligibility. You must have lived in the UK/EU for the past 3 years and be over 19 years old. There may be a fee should you withdraw from the course.
